MODE School Project

The Michigan Organization of Diabetes Educators (MODE) has developed a project called Diabetes Management in Schools. This is a joint endeavor with ADA and JDRF with MODE spearheading this effort. The purpose of this initiative is to assist families of children with diabetes and their school’s staff to provide a safe, supportive and informed environment for children with diabetes to succeed and thrive during their school years.

The role diabetes educators play in this initiative is to work with individual schools to provide guidance and education to school staff based on the individual child’s needs in their school setting. This will be accomplished using materials provided by MODE, ADA, and JDRF to support your activities.

If you are interested in volunteering to be part of a resource list of diabetes educators across the state please complete the information below. We are looking for volunteers from all geographic areas across Michigan. Some of you are already doing this so please sign up so we can count your efforts and compile what is being done around the entire state.
